How This Calculator Works

Select your region (Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines) and vehicle type (GrabCar or GrabBike). Enter total gross fares from the Grab app, tips, and incentives—either in local currency or in Gems (with conversion rate, e.g. 100 Gems = 10 SGD). Add tolls paid (e.g. ERP), vehicle rental/loan cost, and Grab commission (default 20%). Enter hours online, distance driven, fuel consumption and price, and optional maintenance rate (higher in tropical SEA). The calculator deducts Grab fee, adds tips and incentives (including Gems converted to currency), then subtracts fuel, maintenance, tolls, rental, and tax to show your real hourly profit.

Calculation Methodology

Our calculator uses:

  • Grab Fee: Gross Fares × Commission %
  • Incentives: Currency + (Gems ÷ 100 × Rate per 100 Gems)
  • Total Gross: (Gross − Grab Fee) + Tips + Incentives
  • Op Costs: Fuel + Maintenance (distance × rate) + Tolls + Rental + Other
  • Real Hourly Rate: (Total Gross − Total Expenses) ÷ Hours Online

Grab Driver Earnings Calculator 2026: Maximize Your Daily Net Profit

Driving for Grab in Southeast Asia is a high-volume game. Whether you are navigating the streets of Singapore, Jakarta, or Bangkok, simply looking at your 'Total Payout' isn't enough. Our Grab Earnings Calculator helps you separate your true profit from operating costs like fuel, tolls, and the crucial Grab commission. Factor in your 'Missions' and 'Gems' to see your real take-home pay today. Supports GrabCar, GrabBike, and mixed earnings plus Gems-to-currency conversion.

How Grab Commission and Incentives Work in 2026

Grab generally operates on a 20% commission model, but your actual profit depends heavily on your Incentive Tier.

  • GrabCar & GrabBike: In countries like Indonesia and Vietnam, GrabBike is the dominant earner. Our tool allows you to switch between vehicle types to get accurate maintenance costs.
  • The "Gems" System: To earn a living wage, Grab drivers must hit "Missions." These daily or weekly targets can boost your net income by as much as 30%. Enter your Gems and the conversion rate (e.g. 100 Gems = 10 SGD) to see the impact in local currency.
  • Cashless Fees: Small processing fees for GrabPay transactions are automatically factored into our "Grab Fee" logic when you use the commission percentage.

Key Expenses for Grab Partners in SEA

To rank among the top Grab partners, you need to manage your Cost Per Trip.

  • Vehicle Rental (GrabRentals): Many drivers use Grab's internal rental schemes. While convenient, the daily rental fee is a "fixed cost" that you must pay before you earn your first dollar of profit.
  • Tolls and ERP: In cities like Singapore, Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) can eat into your margins if you don't ensure the surcharge is correctly added to the rider's fare. Enter tolls you paid out of pocket.
  • Humidity & Maintenance: In tropical climates, vehicle wear-and-tear (tires, cooling systems) happens faster. We recommend a higher maintenance buffer for SEA drivers—our default rates reflect this.

Grab vs. Gojek: Which Platform is Better?

In 2026, the competition between Grab and Gojek remains intense.

  • Grab: Offers more consistent volume and better corporate booking options.
  • Gojek: Often has more aggressive short-term incentives for bike riders.

Use our calculator to compare your daily net profit across both platforms to see where your time is most valuable.

How We Calculate: The Math Behind Real Grab Earnings

Our calculator uses:

  • Grab Fee: Gross Fares × Commission % (default 20%).
  • Incentives: Currency amount + (Gems ÷ 100 × Rate per 100 Gems).
  • Total Gross: (Gross − Grab Fee) + Tips + Incentives.
  • Operating Costs: Fuel (from distance, consumption, price) + Maintenance (distance × rate) + Tolls + Rental + Other.
  • Real Hourly Rate: (Total Gross − Total Expenses) ÷ Hours Online.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:Does Grab take a cut of my tips?

No. 100% of the tips given by passengers via the Grab app go directly to the driver's wallet.

Q:What are Grab 'Missions'?

Missions are performance-based challenges. For example, 'Complete 15 rides during peak hours to earn an extra $20.' Our calculator has a dedicated field for these bonuses—you can enter them in local currency or in Gems with a conversion rate.

Q:How do I handle taxes as a Grab Driver?

Tax regulations for gig workers vary by country (e.g., IRAS in Singapore). Generally, you are considered self-employed and should save 10-15% of your net profit for year-end tax filings. Our calculator includes an optional tax rate so you can see take-home after setting aside tax.

Q:What are Gems and how do I convert them?

Gems are Grab's in-app reward units earned from Missions and activities. The value in local currency depends on your region and current promotions. Use the 'Gems to currency rate' field: e.g. if 100 Gems = 10 SGD, enter 10. The calculator then converts your Gems total into currency for your net profit.

Q:Is GrabCar or GrabBike more profitable?

It depends on your city and hours. GrabBike often has lower fuel and maintenance costs but lower per-trip fares. GrabCar has higher costs but higher fares and more corporate bookings. Use this calculator for both vehicle types with your real numbers to compare.
